Each basket: 2.2cm x 4.8cm
NPK 8-8-8 Contains nutrients required for healthy overall plant growth
Contains humates to balance pH levels of the soil as well as conditioning the soil
Helps stimulate root growth, fruiting and leaf growth in crops, ornamental plants, landscape plants and fruit trees
Suitable for use with edible plants
For many vegetables, the fertiliser that is added to the soil at planting time will last throughout the entire growing period.
Some fruiting plants that are heavy feeders such as tomatoes need supplemental boosts in the middle of its growing period.
Directions of Use for Fertiliser:
Use the following amount for:
Small pots (< 15 cm) - 1 teaspoon
Large pots (> 15 cm) - 1-2 tablespoons
Trees - 2-4 tablespoons
Apply once a month, water immediately after to start absorption by the plants.
Contains:
Nitrogen (N) - 8%
Phosphorous (P) - 8%
Potassium (K) - 8%
Magnesium (MgO) - 2%
Humate - 10%
Nitrogen
Promotes green leafy growth
Most likely to be deficient in garden soils
Inadequate nitrogen: Result in yellowing and dropping of older leaves, stunted growth
Excess nitrogen: Result in plants growing too fast and may become weak and spindly. May produce more leaves and stems than flowers, fruits or edible roots
Phosphorus
Promotes strong root growth, flowering and fruiting
Inadequate phosphorus: Result in dull green leaves with a purple tint, stunted growth and reduced yield
Excess phosphorus: Unlikely to harm your plants, but is a serious pollutant of water sources
Potassium
Regulates the synthesis of proteins and starches that make sturdy plants
Results in higher resistance to diseases, heat and cold
Inadequate potassium: Result in reduced flowering and fruiting, spotted or curled older leaves and weak stems and roots
Excess potassium: Result in salt burn on leaf tips, turning them brown
Organic fertilisers:
derived from remains of living organisms
release nutrients more slowly
rather insoluble in water, broken down by microorganisms in soil
applied in dry form in early stages of planting - scatter and scratch
less likely to cause fertiliser burns in plants
