Product Description

Vermiculite is known for being an effective growing medium. Volume per pack: 2L Approx weight per pack: 300 grams to 350 grams Volume per pack: 5 L Approx weight per pack: 700 grams to 780 grams Volume per pack: 8L Approx weight per pack: 900 grams to 1050 grams Vermiculite is a form of hydrated laminar minerals which resemble mica. Just like perlite, vermiculite is processed by exposing the material to extreme heat to expand them into small clean, odorless pellets. It is inexpensive and lightweight. This growing media also has a reasonably great cation-exchange capacity, which helps keep the nutrients for later use. It has the ability to retain much water (approximately 200%-300% of its weight). So it usually is mixed with other media. The most familiar one would be perlite as the two media complement each other quite well - perlite drains so fast whereas vermiculite holds moisture. It has a nearly neutral pH. There is a risk of suffocating your plants due to its excellent water holding capacity. Can be used in the drip system, aeroponic system.
