************ IMPORTANT INFORMATION **********************
1) Do not air dry your lodge product as it will cause rust. Always remove the wetness from the product with dry cloth after washing and apply oil to season it before storing it.
2) We do two quality checks (on top of the manufacturer's Quality checks at the factory) on the products before shipping out.
3) Returns will not be accepted for reasons listed below as these are common characteristics of all cast iron products of all brands and all pans will have it . They do not affect function or durability of the pan in anyway.
Customers are welcome to send us private messages to view the photo of the exact product they will be receiving before you place the order.
a) Brown spots (Some new Lodge cookware can have a small 'bubble' on the tip of the handle or on the assist handle, that can chip away and reveal a brownish colour underneath. This is not rust. It is a result of our cookware being seasoned with oil whilst on a hanging conveyor causing a small drip to form at the bottom. If the bubble makes it through our ovens, it is baked on, and the brown underneath is simply oil that has not fully carbonised.
It is perfectly safe, and will disappear with regular use and care.)
b) Rough surface (result of the sand casting process where iron is poured into sand mould).
C) Mild pin holes (result of the sand casting process, the sand grains give that shape )
D) File marks on the edge of the pan where they cut/ grind excess metal (sharp flash) off the pan after moulding.
E) Mild Flakes or Patina peal off (this is peeling off of the vegetable oil (seasoning) that has been baked on), so it usually peels of a little bit at the edge . It will turn black with seasoning and use.
