Although we craft each batch with precision and aim to make every balm the "same", please know that our plant infusion strengths will vary based on seasonal growing fluctuations & is somewhat expected when using 100% natural ingredients. What is alkanet root? Alkanna tinctoria is a tiny blue flowered plant whose roots provide a natural red pigment. One of the reasons Hurraw! balm is not >95% organic is simply because Hurraw! use vegan candelilla wax. This wax is wild grown and processed in Mexico but it is not, and never will be, certified organic which is why Hurraw! can’t include it in the organic %. Wax is also not considered a food and therefore certifying under current “organic” agricultural standards is problematic. Hurraw recommend using your tube of Hurraw! Balm within a year of opening (FYI, laboratory stability tests place expiration at 3 years 'on the shelf’ but that is not optimal) and storing it between 40-72° F (4-22° C).
